Relieving Digital Distress, Rebuilding Human Connection

Away From Keyboard Inc. (AFK) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Seymour, Victoria, dedicated to providing direct relief from emotional distress, psychological harm, and social isolation caused by technology-facilitated abuse and digital overexposure.​

Our mission is to support children, young people, and carers who are already experiencing harm—not just those at risk. This includes individuals affected by online exploitation, screen-induced anxiety, and the challenges of navigating digital spaces.​

AFK's core purpose is to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable populations through:​

• Trauma-Informed Workshops: Providing safe spaces for children and youth to process and recover from digital trauma.​
   
• Carer Support Programs: Offering resources and peer support for carers of neurodivergent children facing digital overstimulation and behavioral crises.​
   
• Victim Support Services: Assisting individuals experiencing technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) with education, referrals, and emotional support.​
   
• Community Engagement: Creating inclusive, in-person activities that foster real-world connections and reduce social isolation.​
   

We are committed to serving those who are often overlooked:​

• Children and youth in rural or regional areas with limited access to support services.​
   
• Individuals with disabilities or neurodivergent conditions affected by digital environments.​
   
• Victims of online abuse, including image-based abuse and cyberbullying.​
